Black women are leaders in their own right.  We lead our homes, organizations, work, and lives.  Build My Sister, is unlike any other leadership cultivation and development program in that the entire focus is to build awareness of disparities, provide a framework to bridge the gaps, and focus on impacting Black women, with an end goal of impacting the Black child. 

The Black child could be in our homes, in our families, and in our communities.  So no, you don’t have to be a mom to be in this program.  You don’t have to be a leader in your organization or workplace yet.  However, if that’s your desire, you very well could be when you finish.  If you are in a leadership role, you will be very qualified to advance when you finish.  What you must be, to be a part of this program is a Black woman who wants to make an impact not just with yourself, but with your community and most importantly, Black children.  The experience will allow you to take what you are learning and personalize it to where you are in your life based on your experiences.
